Normal appendix do not cause any pain unless it is inflammed. During that period, sudden sharp pain that starts on the right side of your lower abdomen. It may also start near your belly button and then move lower to your right. The pain may feel like a cramp at first, and it may get worse when you cough, sneeze, or move.

I found out I was HIV positive 10 years ago from a blood transfusion and have been on ART since then with an undetectable viral load. Now I've been diagnosed with a left hernia that's causing really bad pain. How do I go about getting surgery for this? Are there any special precautions I should take because of my HIV status?
You can safely undergo hernia surgery with HIV if your viral load is undetectable.Inform your surgeon and anesthetist so they can take standard precautions.Healing is generally good with ART control.

Is it possible to get IV antibiotics instead of oral ones for an umbilical hernia surgery in Ontario? I'm a bit worried about infection risks and wondering if IV antibiotics might be more effective are they an option here?
