I've been taking Teneligliptin 20 mg daily along with Mixtard insulin for the last three weeks, and it seems to be helping with controlling the variations in my readings throughout the day. But I'm a bit concerned because I've heard about possible side effects, especially since I have a heart condition. On top of that, I recently found out my Vitamin D levels are low, so I'm taking DRetcal 60k once a week. Do you think Teneligliptin and the Vitamin D supplement will work together to help manage my diabetes better? My HbA1C is around 9, and I've been dealing with diabetes for quite a while now. Is there anything specific I should watch out for?

View allI'm feeling a bit worried because a few weeks ago, I started experiencing this tingling pins-and-needles sensation in my feet and hands. It seems to happen in my feet mostly when I'm sitting cross-legged. I went to my doctor, did some tests for vitamin B12, vitamin D, and thyroid, and it turned out my vitamin D was really low, at 29 nmolL. I've been taking vitamin D tablets, but the tingling is still there when I sit a certain way. Plus, my hands get super dry at night. Could all these be related to the vitamin D deficiency?
The tingling sensation in your feet and hands, especially when sitting with legs crossed, and dry hands at night, may be partially related to Vitamin D deficiency, but other factors like poor circulation, nerve compression, or peripheral neuropathy might also contribute; continue taking Vitamin D supplements and consult your doctor to rule out other underlying causes and consider additional tests or referrals to a specialist if necessary.

Is there any truth to the idea that growing or shaving a beard can affect height at around 15.7 years old? Also, what exactly is the age of puberty? I'm a bit curious and confused about how these things are related.
Growing a beard at the age of 15.7 does not directly affect your height. Height is primarily determined by genetics and the growth plates in your bones, which usually close around the age of 18 to 21. Puberty typically starts between ages 10 and 14 for girls and 12 to 16 for boys, during which growth and physical changes occur.

My mom has been struggling with thyroid issues and her doctors are recommending surgery. I'm really worried is surgery absolutely necessary in her case? How long might the recovery take if she goes through with it? Also, could you share some dos and don'ts she should follow right now to manage her condition better?
Thyroid surgery is needed for large goiters or cancer; recovery takes 2–3 weeks—follow meds, rest, and avoid strain.
