Hi Doctor, I broke my tibia and fibula on 25th July 2016 and had surgery where a titanium rod was inserted for healing. The pain has reduced and the swelling is gone, but my leg still isnt strong enough to bear much weight. Im using a walker to help with walking and have been on leave from work. I was thinking of rejoining my job in October but still want to continue my physiotherapy sessions in Bangalore. Do you think its a good idea to go back to work at this point, or should I wait until my leg is stronger?
To further strengthen your leg and improve weight-bearing ability, you can consider taking Calcium and Vitamin D supplements to support bone healing. Additionally, you can use pain relievers like Ibuprofen to manage any residual discomfort. It is important to follow your physiotherapist's guidance on exercises and gradually increase your activity level to regain strength in your leg.
