As the name suggests, the Chronic Lymphoproliferative Disorder Panel, is used to detect the presence of Chronic Lymphoproliferative Disorder. This inherited disorder inhibits your body from regulating leukocyte production. As a result, an excess of lymphocytes is produced, known as Lymphoproliferation.

This results in the excess accumulation of lymphocytes, further leading to the enlargement of your liver (Hepatomegaly), lymph nodes (Lymphadenopathy), and spleen (Splenomegaly).

If left unchecked, the disease may pave the way for various deadly complications. They are as follows:

  • Lymphocytosis
  • Prolymphocytic Leukemia
  • Hairy Cell Leukemia
  • Large granular lymphocyte disorders
  • Natural killer cell Leukemia

Furthermore, the disease will also be characterized by autoimmune disorders. In this case, your immune system will attack your own tissues and organs. Most of these autoimmune diseases generally target blood cells.

For instance, your immune system may attack your RBCs (Autoimmune Hemolytic Anaemia), WBCs (Autoimmune Neutropenia), or platelets (Autoimmune Thrombocytopenia). In other rare instances, they might affect your nerves (Guillain-Barre syndrome), kidneys (glomerulonephritis), eyes (Uveitis), or liver (Autoimmune Hepatitis).

Moving on, the most commonly detected Lymphoproliferative disorder is Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. This disease progresses slowly and affects a certain group of Leukocytes. As a result, you will experience the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Weight loss
  • Night sweats
  • Enlarged lymph nodes (painless)
  • Pain in the upper left abdomen
  • Frequent infections

If you feel you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, it is time to get the Chronic Lymphoproliferative Panel Test done now. Furthermore, you need to get the test done as soon as possible if you fall under any of the following risk factors:

  • Your race
  • Your age
  • Exposure to chemicals
  • Family history of cancer
  • Already have a condition that produces excess lymphocytes

If this disease doesn't receive timely treatment, it can lead to quite a few deadly complications. They are as follows:

  • Increased risk of other cancers
  • Immune system issues
  • Switch to a much more aggressive cancer
  • Frequent infections
