Carnitine is an amino acid that the body uses to turn fats into energy. Low levels of carnitine interfere with the conversion of fats into energy, due to which the body uses blood sugar for energy production. It can lead to many health problems. However, people who are already suffering from issues in their liver or kidney and are observing weight gain must opt for a carnitine test. This can help prevent the patients from being at risk of developing cirrhosis and academia.
