Your urine specific gravity is generally considered normal in the ranges of 1.005 to 1.030. Make sure you are drinking enough water daily.
Low specific gravity means that urine concentration is diluted. This happens when a person drinks too mush water or is suffering from conditions such as diabetes insipidus.
Specific gravity test will show whether something will float or sink. This test is specifically done to check for solids and liquids against water.
Usually the observer watches the patient take urine sample.
