You should not have a fasting sugar test done if you have eaten anything before the test.
The blood sugar levels are slightly elevated if it crossed 140mg/dl that means that your are falling under the category diabetes.
The test should be done after two hours of eating a meal. However, 155mg/dl might indicate prediabetes.
Any excess glucose goes to your liver for storage. When you go a few hours without eating, blood sugar levels go down.
One gram of sugar will result in the spike of 5mg/dl blood glucose levels. Hence, diabetics are advised to take less or no sugar at all.
