Postprandial refers to the blood glucose levels post a meal. This test is done to see how your body responds to sugar and starch after you eat a meal. As you digest the food in your stomach, blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels rise sharply.
This is because the body digests the last meal (post dinner) and releases glucose in the blood stream which is detected in the fasting test.
When people eat a meal, especially when it contains carbohydrates, it is normal for them to have a temporary spike in their sugar level
Since your HBA1C is 6.8 hence you fall under the category diabetes.
You should fast for 10 hours before the test and one can eat breakfast or a meal after a test.
