How can you tell if a virus is a false positive?
One cannot tell until and unless there has been a repeat test which has given a false result

No, it is not possible to have a false positive test on your own.
False positive is when you dont have an active infection but your results show that you have an infection. This is referred to as false positive.
False negative can cause the infection to spread unknowingly hence it is worse than false positive.
