Is 154 in sugar level when fasting bad for a type 2 diabetic?
In general anything above 140mg/dl needs medicinal intervention and if your blood sugar level is 154 despite medicines then it is bad.

If your fasting blood glucose levels are between 100 and 125mg/dL, it could be considered prediabetes
Over time, your heart your kidneys and your eyes will get damaged so its better to take control of blood gluocose levels.
240mg/dl is the highest which can be lowered by giving medicines. Any value higher than this is absolutely unsafe and has to be reported to a doctor immediately.
A fasting blood sugar level less than 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L) is normal. A fasting blood sugar level from 100 to 125 mg/dL (5.6 to 6.9 mmol/L) is considered prediabetes
