Why does a menstrual period happen only once per month?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
The menstrual cycle is the monthly series of changes a woman's body goes through in preparation for the possibility of pregnancy. Each month, one of the ovaries releases an egg - a process called ovulation. At the same time, hormonal changes prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If ovulation takes place and the egg isn't fertilized, the lining of the uterus sheds through the vagina. This is a menstrual period.

It's important to consult with your doctor to determine the underlying cause of the missed periods. They may recommend medications like progesterone or hormonal treatments to regulate your cycle, but only after a thorough evaluation.

I have intramural fibroids measuring 7cm and 4.5cm and I'm trying to plan for pregnancy. How much does laparoscopic surgery usually cost and is there any chance these can be treated with medication instead of surgery
Large intramural fibroids may affect fertility; meds can help shrink them, but laparoscopic removal may offer better outcomes.
