View allI'm trying to understand my current TB treatment and could use some guidance. I've been dealing with abdomen TB and finished the first two months on Akurit 4 with four tablets a day. Now I'm on Combutol 1 gm and R Cinex 600 mg, along with a multi-vitamin. Initially, I started at 65 kg and now I'm at 68 kg, and I've noticed my appetite has increased, too. The doctor mentioned something about changing to a regimen with a full six months of rifampicin, and I'm a little confused about what that means for relapses and failures. Can you explain how this change might impact my recovery? Also, should I be concerned about the weight gain? I'm 34, by the way.

How can I check my lungs at home?
At home, you may check your lungs functioning with an instrument named "Peak Flow meter". It is a small hand held device, when you blow air into it, it calculates the lung capacity and expansion. Spirometer is another instrument which helps in similar way in lung assessment and additionally it also has therapeutic usage. You may check oxygenation level by "Pulse Oximeter" which gives indirect clue on lung damage but keep in mind there are other medical conditions which may affect pulse oximeter readings.

I sat her up and she eventually got her breath back, but I'm concerned that this could be a medical issue. Can you help me understand what might be going on?
