Ive recently been diagnosed with grade 1 fatty liver and had irritable bowel syndrome earlier. Ive been on antibiotics for a liver infection for a couple of days now, but Im still feeling pain in the liver area. Theres also consistent pain in my abdomen, both when I press and sometimes even when Im not. I had an ultrasound, and it only showed the liver issue. I really want to get rid of this problem. What could be causing the abdominal pain, and how can I get it treated?
The persistent abdominal pain, despite antibiotics for liver infection, could be related to your pre-existing irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), as fatty liver disease and IBS often co-exist; other possible causes may include inflammation, scarring, or adhesions from past liver or abdominal issues; consider consulting a gastroenterologist to investigate further and develop a comprehensive treatment plan addressing both your fatty liver and IBS symptoms.
