I've been noticing small blood spots in my spit in the mornings, sometimes with pink mucus. I had an endoscopy that showed I have antral gastritis, and I also did an HR CT scan of my neck and chest which came out normal. I have acid reflux issues. The first time I saw blood in my spit was after a day of forceful vomiting on an empty stomach. An ENT specialist said it was a tear in my throat causing the bleeding, and it stopped after a few days. However, it happened again after 2 months. What could be causing this, and should I be concerned?
The recurring blood spots and pink mucus in your spit, despite normal HR CT scans, may be related to your antral gastritis and acid reflux, which can cause stomach acid to flow up into your throat, leading to irritation, minor tears, and bleeding, so consult your gastroenterologist to adjust your acid reflux treatment and consider a follow-up endoscopy to assess your gastritis.
