I've been smoking for the last couple of years but stopped after getting a bad cold recently. I've been dealing with a chronic belching problem ever since my first chest tube 3 years ago. This week, I was back in the hospital with another chest tube, and interestingly enough, I barely burped at all while I was there. Now that I'm back home, the burping has started up again, and it's painful to take a deep breath. I'm really worried my lung might have collapsed again. Could these issues be connected? Should I go back to the hospital?

I'm curious if there's a blood test that can help understand how severe my ILD is and whether the disease is stable or getting worse since I can't have an HRCT all the time. Also, if I'm taking the right medications after being diagnosed with ILD, how many years could I potentially expect to live?
