I'm feeling really anxious because I went to the dentist for an emergency treatment today and now I've suddenly got this urge to cough. It feels like there's something stuck in my throat. Could this possibly be related to COVID? The dentist was super careful and followed all the protocols like wearing a face shield, sanitizing everything, using air purifiers, and taking my temperature. He even mentioned he hasnt seen any other patients in a month. Despite all this, I'm still worried. What should I do about these symptoms I'm experiencing?

View allI'm really struggling with this whole not smoking thing after my tonsil removal. I've been smoking about 15 cigarettes a day, and now the past couple of days without them are just killing me. The NRT options aren't helping much either. My doctor mentioned something about my bleeding risk going from 2 to 3 if I smoke, but that doesn't entirely make sense to me. I'm trying to find out what the absolute minimum time is before I can start smoking again. Honestly, quitting for good isn't an option for me, and going two weeks without smoking seems nearly impossible. Any advice?
no you have to quit smoking

I think I have a small soft palate and it's affecting my speech. A speech therapist recommended surgery, but I'm not sure if that's the only option. Could a small soft palate really cause speech issues and what are the alternatives to surgery?
Yes, a small soft palate, or velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI), can indeed cause speech problems, particularly nasal sounding speech. While surgery is often recommended for VPI, it's not the only option, and other therapies can be effective. Speech therapy, prosthetic devices, and even biofeedback can help improve speech in many cases

A thin fish bone got stuck in my throat three days ago, and I'm not sure if it's still there or if it came out. If it's still stuck, could it cause an infection? How can I safely remove it? I'm really worried about this.
Persistent sore throat can be frustrating! _Consider the following:_ 1. _Prolonged antibiotic course_: Clavam 625 might need to be taken for a longer duration. Consult your doctor about extending the course. 2. _Alternative antibiotics_: If the current antibiotic isn't effective, your doctor might prescribe an alternative. 3. _Throat swab culture_: A throat swab culture can help identify the underlying cause of the sore throat. 4. _ENT specialist consultation_: Consider consulting an ENT specialist for a thorough examination and guidance. _Additional remedies:_ 1. _Saltwater gargles_: Mix 14 teaspoon of salt in 8 ounces of warm water and gargle several times a day. 2. _Throat lozenges_: Suck on lozenges to keep your throat moist and soothe the pain. 3. _Warm liquids_: Drink warm liquids like tea or broth to help soothe the throat. 4. _Humidifier_: Use a humidifier to add moisture to the air, which can help reduce throat irritation. _When to seek immediate medical attention:_ 1. _Difficulty swallowing_ 2. _Severe throat pain_ 3. _Fever over 101.5F (38.6C)_ 4. _Shortness of breath_
