Im 50 years old and stopped drinking alcohol a year ago, but for the last three months, Ive been dealing with loose motions 4 to 5 times a day. Ive done tests like ultrasound, blood tests, and stool tests, and everything seems fine except for a mild fatty liver and low hemoglobin. Could the low hemoglobin be causing the diarrhea? What other tests should I consider, and whats the best course of action? I also have high blood pressure and have been on medication for 25 years.
Its unlikely that low hemoglobin alone is causing your loose motions, but it could contribute to overall weakness. Since you have a history of high blood pressure and fatty liver, its important to follow up with your doctor for further tests, like checking for gastrointestinal issues or infections, and possibly adjusting your medication. Staying hydrated and maintaining a balanced diet will also help.
