I recently had an ultrasound of my pelvis and wanted to understand what the report means. The findings mention "small retained products of conception" (RPOC) but Im not sure what exactly that indicates. Here's a breakdown of the report:- The urinary bladder is fine, no issues with calculi or wall thickening.- The uterus is normal in size and the myometrial texture looks good. However, the endometrium is described as "heterogeneous" and measuring 8mm at the fundal region, with some endometrial contents (10x5mm) that show vascularity.- The right ovary is normal in size, but the left ovary has a simple cyst (3.5x2.5cm) without any complex features.- There's minimal fluid in the pelvis. The impression mentions small retained products of conception and a small simple cyst on the left ovary. Does this mean that I have RPOC, and if so, what steps should I take next? How concerned should I be?
The report indicates the presence of small retained products of conception (RPOC) in the uterus, which can be seen as endometrial contents with vascularity. This finding should be evaluated clinically to determine its significance. Additionally, a small simple cyst is present on the left ovary, but it appears to be benign with no concerning features like septations or solid components.
