  5. Hi, the skin around the outer side of my right toenail has softened and theres some kind of watery liquid forming, looks like an infection. Im not sure whats causing it, but its been bothering me. Is this something I should be concerned about, and what can I do to treat it? Should I see a doctor or is there something I can apply at home?

This sounds like you may have a paronychia, which is an infection of the skin around the toenail. You can try soaking your foot in warm water with Epsom salts a few times a day to help reduce the infection. You can also apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin to the affected area. If the infection is severe or does not improve, you may need to see a doctor for further treatment.
