View allI found out I was HIV positive 10 years ago from a blood transfusion and have been on ART since then with an undetectable viral load. Now I've been diagnosed with a left hernia that's causing really bad pain. How do I go about getting surgery for this? Are there any special precautions I should take because of my HIV status?
You can safely undergo hernia surgery with HIV if your viral load is undetectable.Inform your surgeon and anesthetist so they can take standard precautions.Healing is generally good with ART control.
