For patients presenting during the first week after fever onset, diagnostic testing should include a test for dengue virus (rRT-PCR or NS1) and IgM. For patients presenting more than a week after fever onset, IgM detection is most useful, although NS1 has been reported positive up to 12 days after fever onset
It is likely that the person became infected with dengue virus within recent weeks. If the IgG is positive but the IgM is low or negative, then it is likely that the person had an infection sometime in the past.
The average time period of the treatment of dengue is between 4 weeks to 6 weeks.
No fasting is required.
One should try applying pain relief creams, taking adequate rest and doing mild movements to get relief from mild joint pains during dengue or chikunguniya.
