By looking at a sample of your blood, your doctor can determine if you have abnormal levels of red or white blood cells or platelets which will inndicate whether you have leukemia.
A CBC tells you how many new blood cells your body is getting created that are number of red blood cells (RBC or erythrocytes), white blood cells (WBC or leukocytes) and platelets.

The normal number of platelets in the blood is 150,000 to 400,000 platelets per microliter (mcL) or 150 to 400 x 109/L.
