Liver function test is needed to screen for liver diseases and liver infections such as hepatitis. These tests also help to monitor conditions such as jaundice, fatty liver and cirrhosis. In addition the doctor may ask you to take these tests to know how well your liver is working.
There are many conditions that can cause high LDH levels. They are heart diseases, lung diseases, kidney diseases , anemia etc. To know your root cause consult with a doctor at the earliest.
It means that you are suffering from tissue damage or an infection of the lung or kidney. In addition, you may also be suffering from anemia. Hence, you are recommended to treat it at the earliest.
SGOT and SGPT are normal up to 40 units, therefore, SGPT of 64 and SGOT of 53 are mildly high and indicate hepatocellular damage. Consult with a doctor to help you reduce liver damage.
