Anemia does have prominent symptoms such as fatigue and pale skin which indicates low hemoglobin count. However, it is recommended to get a CBC test done to diagnose anemia.
Anemia results in a decreased oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. In the short term, the body can compensate with an increase in heart rate and respiratory rate. If left untreated, anemia can cause multi-organ failure.
The symptoms of anemia comprises of breathlessness, fatigue, brittle nails, chest pain and unexplained paleness of the skin.
Mild anemia can happen due to faulty diets or certain medications. However, the prominent symptoms are cold hands and feet, tiredness, chest pain and shortness of breathe. If you are experiencing these symptoms consider taking a blood test to know your iron levels.
If you have anemia, you are likely to suffer from shortness of breathe because there is less oxygen carrying capacity in the cells. Report such issues to a doctor so that you can resolve your anemia and respiratory difficulties.
