It has been found that fruits and vegetables such as bananas, apples, apricots, papayas, tomatoes, spinach and water melon are known to increase hemoglobin levels in the body.
Hemoglobin levels are considered high in both males and females if they cross 16. 16 is okay and one can keep a track so that it doesnt exceed higher limits of hemoglobin counts.
8.3 in both males and females are low anemia levels. Seek help of a medical professional immediately specially if you have had an operation. Do not delay.
High hemoglobin levels are most often caused by low oxygen levels in the blood (hypoxia), present over a long period of time. Common reasons include undiagnosed medical conditions such as bone marrow disease that causes abnormal increase in red blood cells (polycythemia vera) and heart diseases. In addition, certain medications can also hamper with hemoglobin levels.
If you have good control over diabetes then the good news is that HBA1C can drop by 10%. But if your levels are higher than 7.5 then the drop is slower.
