Immediately after eating one should have a value which is less than 180mg/dl.
Postprandial refers to the blood glucose levels post a meal. This test is done to see how your body responds to sugar and starch after you eat a meal. As you digest the food in your stomach, blood glucose, or blood sugar, levels rise sharply.
It's important to keep your blood sugar levels in your target range as much as possible to help prevent or delay long-term, serious health problems, such as heart disease, vision loss, and kidney disease. Staying in your target range can also help improve your energy and mood.
The blood sugar levels are slightly elevated if it crossed 140mg/dl that means that your are falling under the category diabetes.
In a healthy person, insulin starts working, and the blood sugar level returns to the pre-meal level 2 hours after eating
