What are the 3 stages of iron deficiency?
Answered by 1 Apollo Doctors
The first stage is "iron depletion" where iron stores are used up to correct the deficiency. The second stage is "reduced red blood cell formation" where iron supply is not enough to support RBC formation. The third and final stage is "iron deficiency anemia" where hemoglobin concentration is affected and drops below the normal range.

View allMy PT level is 19.3 and I'm a bit worried is this something serious that needs attention or could it improve as I get older? Also, would it be safe to go through surgery with levels this high?
A PT of 19.3 is high and could delay surgery. It may point to liver issues or vitamin K deficiency. Needs further evaluation and correction before any operation.

I'm really concerned about my brother. His CBC report shows elevated neutrophils at 7.59, low lymphocytes at 17, eosinophils at 0.54, TLC is at 10.3, and his RBC count is 4.45. The other day he fainted after being outside in the heat. What could be causing this? I'm quite worried and just want to understand what's going on.

I'm really worried about my dad. He's got a really high white blood cell count at 22,000. He's around 80 years old and gets really exhausted even with just a little bit of effort. Any idea what's going on or what we should do next?
A high WBC count can be indicative of various conditions, ranging from infections to more serious diseases like leukemia. The key to managing your father's health right now is thorough medical evaluation, so I strongly recommend discussing these concerns with his primary doctor or specialist to get the right diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
