I'm feeling really worried about scabies. How long does it usually take to completely get rid of it? Is it considered a pretty serious illness? I'm also kind of scaredcan it actually be deadly?

Scabies is a skin infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. It is not usually a serious condition but can be very uncomfortable and contagious. Scabies can be effectively treated with topical medications such as Permethrin cream. It typically takes about 1-2 weeks for the symptoms to resolve after treatment. In some cases, a second treatment may be necessary. It is important to also wash all clothes, bedding, and towels in hot water to prevent re-infestation. Scabies does not typically result in death.
