My father tested positive for COVID-19. He had symptoms like fever and body aches for about three days, but now hes feeling better with fewer symptoms. We got his RT-PCR test done two days ago, and his CT value came out to be 16. Does this mean he has a high viral load? If the CT value is high, does it increase the chances of lung infection? Should we get any other tests done to check if his viral load is low or high?
A CT value of 16 indicates a higher viral load, suggesting active infection. While a higher viral load can sometimes be associated with a greater chance of complications like lung involvement, the absence of severe symptoms is a positive sign. Further testing, such as a chest X-ray or CT scan, might be considered to assess lung health, but its essential to monitor his condition closely. If symptoms worsen, seek medical attention promptly.
