"My father is 67 and has been dealing with diabetes for the past 25 years, which has now affected his kidneys. In October 2016, his creatinine was 2.92, and he was diagnosed with CKD. By December 2016, it was 3.0, and in January 2017, it jumped to 4.77. He also lost his appetite and became very inactive, which led to a hospital admission. By January 25th, his creatinine was 6.7, and within two days it reached 7.7, even with all prescribed medications. His blood sugar levels are between 130-200 (fasting and post-lunch), and we were told that his diabetes is under control. His blood pressure averages around 137-140. His ECG and 2D echo results are good. His potassium level is 4.2, but his hemoglobin is low at 8. Im really worried about his kidney function. What should we be focusing on at this point?"
Ideally he must be taken up for Dialysis to bring creatinine atleast less than 5 with good urine output and normal electrolytes, dont worry follow your doctors advice
