I've smoked 43 cigarettes over the last 8 months and I've stopped now, but I'm really worried. How much harm could that have done to my health? Am I safe, or should I be concerned about any potential diseases? I'd really appreciate some advice on this.

I'm curious if pleurisy or pulmonary effusion could be causing me pain in my calf muscles. About three years ago, I was treated for pulmonary effusion, and since then, I've had a slight pain when breathing. But now I've also got this calf muscle pain. Could these be connected?
