I've been tracking my pulse rate and it usually falls between 44 to 60 beats per minute. Sometimes I experience a bit of chest pain but my doctor mentioned it's just gas. My blood pressure ranges between 120 to 140 over 80 to 90. Should I be worried about these pulse rates or the chest pain?

Your pulse rate of 44 to 60 beats per minute is considered bradycardia, which is a heart rate that is slower than normal. Since you are also experiencing chest pain, it is important to rule out any underlying heart conditions. I recommend you to take Aspirin 81mg once a day to prevent any clot formation in the heart. Also, you can take Metoprolol 25mg once a day to help regulate your heart rate. Make sure to follow up with your doctor for further evaluation and management.

I've been thinking about getting a smartwatch since they can track heart rate and blood pressure, but I'm a bit skeptical. Do these gadgets actually give accurate readings for heart rate and BP, or should I not rely on them for medical monitoring?
Smartwatches can provide a useful and convenient way to monitor heart rate and blood pressure, but their accuracy can vary. While they can give a general overview, they may not always be as precise as medical-grade equipment. It's best to use them as a supplementary tool rather than a primary source for critical health decisions. For accurate and reliable blood pressure and heart rate measurements, it's important to use validated medical devices and consult with your healthcare provider.

I've been having some chest pain for the last few days and it's really been bothering me. Sometimes it feels uncomfortable and along with the chest pain, I get this ache in my arm joint or at the back of my neck, and it's just getting worse at times. The pain tends to last for a few hours. What could be causing this and should I be concerned?
It sounds like you may be experiencing symptoms of angina, which is chest pain or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to your heart muscle. In such cases, it is important to consult a doctor for proper evaluation and treatment. Common medications prescribed for angina include: - Nitroglycerin: 0.4mg sublingual tablet, to be taken as needed for chest pain - Aspirin: 81mg to 325mg daily, to help prevent blood clots - Beta-blockers (e.g. Metoprolol): Dosage varies, to help reduce heart rate and blood pressure - Calcium channel blockers (e.g. Amlodipine): Dosage varies, to help relax blood vessels It is important to seek medical attention to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms and receive appropriate treatment.
