Ive been experiencing pain when I breathe or sneeze, and I've visited several doctors without finding any relief. I decided to get an ultrasound, and the results showed a pleural effusion of 300-400ml. I'm quite worried and unsure of what steps to take next. Can anyone offer some guidance on what this means and what I should do?

Understanding Pleural Effusion
- Pleural effusion is the accumulation of fluid between the lung and chest cavity linings. A volume of 300-400ml is moderate and can cause symptoms like pain during breathing or sneezing.
-
Symptoms and Causes
- Common symptoms include chest pain, difficulty breathing, and cough. Causes may include infections, heart failure, lung diseases, or inflammation.
-
Importance of Specialist Consultation
- Consult a pulmonologist for evaluation and management. A thoracic surgeon may be needed for invasive procedures.
-
Diagnostic and Treatment Steps
- Diagnostic tests: chest X-ray, CT scan, pleural fluid analysis. Treatment depends on cause and severity: medication, drainage (thoracentesis), or surgery.
-
Immediate Advice and Next Steps
- Seek timely medical evaluation to identify the cause. Keep a symptom diary and note any worsening signs like fever or increased breathlessness. Follow up with your healthcare provider promptly.

View allI'm experiencing tightness in my chest and it's becoming hard to breathe. I've been diagnosed with allergic bronchitis and usually use my asthalin inhaler, but it's not providing much relief this time. My nose feels sort of blocked, though I don't have any other symptoms like a cough or cold. I've tried taking Allegra too, but the tightness in my chest just won't go away. What could be going on?

I'm experiencing some breathlessness when I'm walking or climbing stairs to the second floor, especially after coming home from work. My oxygen level drops to 90 for about 30 seconds to a minute before it goes back to normal. I also had a CRP test done, and the result was 15.6 mgL. Is this a normal level? What could be happening with my body?
