I've been diagnosed with TB lymphadenitis and I'm a bit confused about my medication routine. Right now, I take Rcnex in the morning, then Ethambutol after breakfast, and Pyrazinamide after lunch. Initially, my fever was quite constant, and I had to take four paracetamol tablets a day, but now I just need one. I'm worried because a drug sensitivity test wasn't done. Is this the right way to be taking my meds, and how many days should it usually take for the fever to go away? Also, should I be considering a biopsy anytime soon?

Medication Routine and Timing
- Rcnex (Rifampicin + Isoniazid): Take on an empty stomach, ideally in the morning.
- Ethambutol: Take with meals, such as after breakfast.
- Pyrazinamide: Can be taken with or without food, but consistency is key.
-
Fever Resolution Timeline
- Fever typically subsides within 2-3 weeks of starting treatment.
- If fever persists beyond this, consult your healthcare provider.
-
Role of Biopsy in TB Lymphadenitis
- A biopsy is usually considered if diagnosis is uncertain or if there is no response to treatment.
- It helps confirm TB and rule out other conditions.
-
Drug Sensitivity Testing (DST)
- DST is not always done initially due to standard treatment protocols.
- It becomes crucial if there is no improvement or if drug resistance is suspected.
-
Additional Advice and Follow-up
- Adhere strictly to your medication schedule.
- Regular follow-ups are essential to monitor progress and adjust treatment if necessary.

View allI'm still feeling a bit worried because I'm coughing up brown phlegm even though I finished my Levofloxacin course. The chest pain I had is mostly gone, which is a relief since it was pretty uncomfortable, but I can still feel something in my lungs. Does this mean the bronchitis isn't fully cleared up? Should I be doing anything else, or might it just take a bit more time for my lungs to feel normal again?

I'm experiencing something a bit odd. After 5 or 6 normal breaths, I feel the need to take a heavy breath, which is really uncomfortable. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?

I'm starting to worry a bit because even after 25 days of taking the prescribed medication for COVID-19 and sticking to all the protocols, a positive test result is still showing up. There aren't any symptoms at the moment, but my dad's SpO2 levels are all over the place. They dip to around 93 in the evening but shoot back up to a normal 98 when he wakes up in the morning. Should I be concerned about this fluctuation? Is this considered normal?
