Is it alright to keep using mometasone furoate cream on my eyelids and above my lips? I've been on this medication for about a year and it works great, but I came across some articles that say maybe it shouldn't be used on those areas. Should I be worried or stop using it there?

Mometasone furoate cream is a potent topical corticosteroid. While it can be effective, using it on sensitive areas like eyelids and above the lips for an extended period (1 year) may pose risks:

Risks on Eyelids:

  1. Skin thinning: Prolonged use can cause skin thinning, making eyelids more prone to injury.
  2. Glaucoma: Long-term use around the eyes may increase the risk of glaucoma.
  3. Cataracts: Prolonged use may also increase the risk of cataracts.

Risks Above the Lips:

  1. Skin thinning: Similar to eyelids, skin thinning can occur, making the area more sensitive.
  2. Perioral dermatitis: Long-term use can lead to perioral dermatitis, a skin condition characterized by redness, bumps, and itching.

I'm dealing with acne and was wondering if taking azithral 500mg would help clear it up. Is this a good idea or should I consider something else?

I don't recommend using Azithral 500mg tablet for acne treatment. Instead, you can try using topical treatments like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. For severe cases, you may consider consulting a dermatologist who can prescribe oral medications like isotretinoin.

I've been dealing with allergic eruptions ever since I was a kid. Recently, I found out I have psoriasis and eczema on my joints like my ankles, elbows, and knees. My IgE levels are pretty high at 1700. I regularly take Allegra 120 and Montair LC which help a bit, but nothing seems to truly work. I'm in a tough spot and dont know what to do. Can you offer any advice on how to manage or reduce these issues? I've tried both homeopathy and allopathy, but no luck so far.

For the management of Psoriasis and eczema with allergic eruptions, in addition to your current antihistamines, I recommend adding a topical corticosteroid cream like Betnovate to reduce inflammation and itching. Apply a thin layer to the affected areas once or twice daily. Also, you can use a moisturizer like Cetaphil to keep the skin hydrated. Furthermore, you can consider taking an immunosuppressant medication like Methotrexate under the guidance of a dermatologist to help control the autoimmune response causing Psoriasis. This should be taken once a week in a prescribed dosage. It's important to continue with regular follow-ups with your dermatologist to monitor your condition and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

I'm using Sebamed sunscreen 50 but noticed that it's only SPF 30, and my oily, sensitive skin tends to look dull on some days when I use it, while other days it seems fine. I'm considering switching to a gel-based sunscreen like Sunprotek because it has good reviews. I'm just not sure about the quality and ingredients, and whether it's a physical or chemical sunscreen. Can you help clarify this?

Yes you can use it no problem, visit Dermatologist for appropriate treatment
