I'm really worried because I've been dealing with this acid reflux ever since I quit smoking about a month ago. Its become quite uncomfortable, and sometimes I even have trouble breathing, which gets worse when I try to exercise. Im not sure if there's any medication I could take to ease these symptoms, or if it's important that I visit a hospital right now. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Can acid reflux cause heart palpitations? I've been dealing with really bad acidity and it's freaking me out a bit. My GP suggested some tests like an echo, echocardiogram, and blood tests but everything came back normal. Is it possible that the acid reflux could be causing the palpitations or should I be worried about something else?

Yes, acid reflux can cause palpitations. When stomach acid irritates the esophagus, it can lead to discomfort and sensations that may make you feel like your heart is racing or skipping beats. Anxiety and worry about these symptoms can also contribute to palpitations. Since your ECG, echo, and blood tests all came back normal, it's reassuring that there's likely no underlying heart condition causing your palpitations. Managing your acid reflux through lifestyle changes, dietary adjustments, and possibly medications as prescribed by your doctor can help alleviate these symptoms. If your palpitations persist or worsen, follow up with your healthcare provider for further evaluation.

I'm a 29-year-old guy, and I've been diagnosed with a grade 3 fatty liver. I don't have diabetes and just drink occasionally. I recently had a fibroscan that showed no fibrosis, but my SGOT is 70, SGPT is 45. My total bilirubin level is 1.2, with direct bilirubin at 0.8, and my uric acid is 7.9. Should I be worried about these numbers, and what can I do to improve my liver health?

I've been dealing with this annoying acidity every morning for the last few days. It's like I wake up and feel this urge to vomit, and sometimes there's a lot of gas too. Lately, it even feels like there's acid being released or something. Could you tell me what might be going on and what I should do?

It sounds like you may be experiencing symptoms of acid reflux. I recommend taking Omeprazole (brand name Prilosec) 20mg once daily before breakfast for at least 2 weeks. Additionally, you can take Simethicone (brand name Gas-X) 125mg after meals to help with gas. Make sure to avoid spicy and acidic foods, as well as eating at least 2-3 hours before bedtime to help alleviate your symptoms.
