I'm really worried because ever since I had a viral infection, I've been dealing with this persistent cough and wheezing that just won't go away. It even flares up when I'm talking sometimes. What could be causing this, and should I be concerned about it being something more serious?

View allI'm really concerned about my dad who's 52 and has been diagnosed with COPD. He's had a bad cough for a while, and the doctor suggested he take Unicontin 400 every night. It's helped his cough a lot, but I'm wondering if it's really COPD since the doctor didn't do a spirometry test and my dad doesn't smoke. Should we go ahead and get the spirometry test done anyway? Also, I've read about side effects of Unicontin 400. Are there any other meds we could consider?
Its possible that your father has COPD even without smoking, as other factors like exposure to pollutants or genetics can contribute. Spirometry is a key test for confirming COPD, so it may be worth discussing with the doctor. If youre concerned about Unicontin 400's side effects, ask about alternative medications like inhaled steroids or bronchodilators, which might be gentler on the body.

Hey doctor, I've got a few concerns I hope you can help me with. So, I'm a 33-year-old guy weighing 100 kgs, and although I don't have any blood pressure issues, sugar, diabetes, or other conditions, I've been dealing with this COVID-19 thing. Tested positive on May 23 and got admitted on May 25. My CT score was 425 initially and went up to 2040 by June 1, but I was discharged from the hospital on June 7. Lately, I've noticed that my body temperature was 99.6F on both June 21 and 22 at 9 pm, and then it was 99F on June 23. Also, I've been coughing up thick white mucus from my lungs pretty frequently. I'm worriedis this a sign that the virus might still be spreading in my system? Would really appreciate any guidance you can give.

I've been having a fever sometimes along with body aches, and my chest feels heavy. The X-ray shows some air in my chest, but I tested negative for COVID. What could be causing this?
