I'm really worried about my brother. His report shows he has Mycobacterium TB. Could you help me understand if this means it's in the early or late stage? Also, he coughed up a small amount of blood this morning and is having really bad chest pain. What stage might this be?

I'm a 22-year-old guy, and I've been smoking for the past year. I've had this chest pain for about 8 months now. I went to a cardiologist, and my cholesterol was high. He told me to lower it, which I did in a month, but the chest pain is still there. I went through ECG, echo, TMT, and a chest X-ray, and everything came back normal. The cardiologist said my heart's fine, but I still feel this pain. It's worse when I bend forward or take a deep breath, and its around the center and left side of my chest. I'm not sure what to do next. Should I be considering a chest CT scan? The cardiologist told me to just ignore the pain and said its not heart-related. I already quit smoking and changed my diet, but the pain hasn't gone away. What should my next step be?

I've got a bit of a concern and would love some insight. So, around 15 years ago, I dealt with pleural effusion, but everything got sorted out with the treatment, and I haven't really had any lung issues since. Now, I've been told to take Montair for about 4 months because my IGE levels are up and I've got this moderate cough. I'm just wondering if taking Montair might cause any side effects related to the lungs? Is it genuinely safe to keep taking it for about 5 months? Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.
Montair LC (montelukast and levocetirizine) is generally safe for long-term use in managing allergic conditions and cough. Given your history of pleural effusion, it's important to monitor your lung health, but the medication typically does not have direct harmful effects on the lungs. Always follow your doctor's advice and report any unusual symptoms.
