I'm experiencing this weird needle-like pricking sensation in my right chest and arms, but it only happens at night, and Ive noticed it seems to occur when I drink alcohol. My blood pressure seems to range from 8095 to 120140 in the evening, but its normal in the morning. This has been going on for months now. I had an ECG done and the doctor said my heart seems fine, but he mentioned symptoms of high blood pressure over the past few months. Should I be worried about this, or is there something I could do to help with the symptoms?

This sensation in your right chest and arms, especially occurring at night after drinking alcohol, could be related to nerve irritation or inflammation. Given your fluctuating blood pressure readings, it is important to manage your blood pressure effectively to prevent any complications. I recommend you to take a low dose of Amlodipine (brand name: Norvasc) 5mg once daily to help control your blood pressure. Additionally, you can take Acetaminophen (brand name: Tylenol) 500mg for relief from the needle-like sensation in your chest and arms. However, it is important to limit or avoid alcohol consumption as it can exacerbate your symptoms and negatively impact your blood pressure. Please make sure to follow up with your doctor regularly to monitor your blood pressure and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

I'm 28 and have been dealing with blood pressure readings around 15090. Lately, I've noticed a bit of heart pressure and irritation in my eyes. High blood pressure runs in my family; both my grandmother and father have it. I'm starting to get worried. Do you think I should be concerned?

Your blood pressure reading of 15090 is considered high and may require medical attention. Given your family history of high blood pressure, it is important to monitor and manage your blood pressure to reduce the risk of complications. To help lower your blood pressure, you can consider taking medication such as Losartan (50mg) once daily. Additionally, lifestyle modifications such as reducing salt intake, maintaining a healthy weight, regular exercise, and stress management techniques can also be beneficial in managing high blood pressure. For the pressure on the heart and eye irritation, it is important to consult with a healthcare provider for a proper evaluation and management plan.

I'm really worried about my mom. Her heartbeat's been acting up and she's feeling a heavy sensation around her chest. About a month ago, her hemoglobin was really low at 6, and the doctor suggested 7 cycles of iron injections. She's already done five of those. The last four times, it took about 2 to 2.5 hours to finish each cycle, but the nurse did the fifth round in just an hour. Also, they usually fixed the cannula on the back of her hand, but during this last session, they put it on her wrist and told her to hold it. Do you think these changes could be why she's feeling chest heaviness and her heartbeat's speeding up? Can the quick iron injection cause these symptoms?

I've been having these heart palpitations lately, and honestly, they really freak me out. I saw a doctor and felt better for a while, but it seems like they still happen about once a month. The last episode was pretty intenseI was just sleeping, and suddenly it felt like my heart was racing around 200 beats per minute, maybe even more. What could be causing this, and should I be worried?

Hlo Sriram, it sounds like you are experiencing episodes of tachycardia, where your heart beats very fast. This can be concerning and may require further evaluation. One possible medication that can be prescribed for such episodes is Metoprolol (brand name: Lopressor) at a starting dose of 25-50mg twice daily. However, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
