I'm a bit confused and worriedare pleural effusion and pneumonia the same thing? I've been trying to understand the difference and it's a bit overwhelming. Could you explain how they're related or if they're completely different?

I've been sneezing nonstop and it's hard to breathe. I was taking Medrol 4mg, and now I have chest and back pain. I had an MRI done for my chest and lungs, and it showed there's an infection. What could be causing all this? Do I need to be worried about the infection spreading or getting worse? What should my next steps be?

My dad has been smoking for the past 20 years, and now he's dealing with breathing issues. I'm wondering if there's any medical treatment or process that can help clear his lungs and improve his condition, besides the regular medicines?
