  5. Hi doctor, my 16-month-old baby has been vomiting and having watery diarrhea for the last 3 days. On Sunday, she vomited 5 to 6 times between 6 pm and 10:30 pm, so we gave her Ondem syrup (2.5ml), and the vomiting stopped. But on Monday, she had loose stools more than 10 times within 15-20 minutes of eating. On Tuesday, she had watery stool just once, and then she seemed fine. However, on Wednesday morning, she vomited twice right after breastfeeding, and since then, she hasn't eaten anything and has had watery stool more than 8 times. She cries when passing stool but otherwise seems okay. What should I do to stop the vomiting and diarrhea and also help improve her appetite?

It sounds like your baby may be dealing with a stomach infection or digestive upset. Continue giving Ondem syrup for vomiting as needed and focus on keeping her hydrated with oral rehydration solutions (ORS). For the loose motions, avoid dairy and fatty foods, and offer easily digestible foods like boiled rice or plain toast once she feels better. If symptoms persist or worsen, its best to consult her pediatrician.
