Hi doctor, Last month, I noticed a shiny rash on the head of my penis, but it went away on its own. Since then, the head has been red, and the ring around it is pink with some papules. The foreskin has been sticky with some white stuff inside. Ive been washing it daily with soap, and now the skin on the head is peeling and becoming erosive. Ive been applying coconut oil, but the skin still peels. I dont have any itching, pain, lesions, or sores though. Could this be a serious issue?
Based on your symptoms, it's possible that you experienced a self-limiting condition, such as:1. Irritant contact dermatitis (reaction to soap)2. Balanitis (inflammation of the penis head)3. Posthitis (inflammation of the foreskin)To promote healing and prevent future occurrences:1. Discontinue using harsh soaps; switch to gentle, fragrance-free cleansers.2. Apply coconut oil or a topical emollient to soothe the skin.3. Avoid excessive washing or rubbing.4. Consider consulting a dermatologist or urologist for proper evaluation and guidance. In the meantime, maintain good genital hygiene:1. Clean the area with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser.2. Pat dry; avoid rubbing.3. Apply coconut oil or a topical emollient to keep the skin moisturized.
