  1. Understanding the Hymen

    • The hymen is a thin membrane that partially covers the vaginal opening. Its size and shape vary greatly among individuals.
  2. Tampons and the Hymen

    • Using tampons can stretch or tear the hymen, but it doesn't necessarily "break" it. This is a normal occurrence and varies per person.
  3. Virginity and Tampon Use

    • Virginity is a social concept, not defined by the state of the hymen. Using tampons does not equate to losing virginity.
  4. Safety and Normalcy

    • Tampon use is safe and normal when done correctly. Follow instructions for insertion and removal to avoid discomfort.
  5. Proper Tampon Use

    • Choose the right absorbency, change tampons every 4-8 hours, and relax during insertion to minimize discomfort.

I'm 7 weeks pregnant and my doctor advised me to take Folvite tablets once in the morning. But I've been taking them at night instead. Could this affect my pregnancy? I'm really worried about it. What should I do?

I'm a bit worried and could use some guidance. I was diagnosed with a cyst in my right ovary and was prescribed Regestrone for five days, which brought on my period. The doctor also advised me to start taking Diane 35 on the fourth day, which I've been taking regularly. I've only two more tablets left from my pack. I did have unprotected sex during the first week of starting the pill, but there was no ejaculation inside. Should I be concerned about the possibility of pregnancy?

The chances of pregnancy are slim. You shouldn't worry about it since you said there was no ejaculation inside. Kindly wait for your periods or consult a gynaecologist in person for further evaluation and management.

I've done a beta hcg test because my periods are late, and the result came back as 0.861 mIUmL. I'm confused about whether this is positive or negative, as my doctor mentioned it should be above 5 mIUmL. Why might this low value show up? I'm really stressed about it and could use some help understanding what's going on.

These are Hormonal Fluctuations so the result is negative for pregnancy. Typically: Non-pregnant levels: < 5 mIUmL. Positive for pregnancy: 5 mIUmL. Low beta hCG can sometimes appear in women of reproductive age, but it doesnt indicate pregnancy.
